Cyber Monday – enjoy the discounts safe !

Today is Cyber Monday , a day when all webshops (and not only) give big discounts to many products they sell. Even if the discount campaigns of some webshops are incredible and too good to let it go, you should think twice before giving the order: the discount is for a product that everybody wants and seems very hard to find. Think of PS5, latest XBOX, etc…. the discount is waaaaayyy too big to miss you haven’t seen that website/webshop before you haven’t bought from that webshop before you haven’t seen on the Internet any review about that webshop you are being requested to give your personal details, card or bank PIN number If you answered YES to at least one, then STOP right here, right NOW. As a rule of thumb If something is too good to be true, then probably it isn’t! How can you recognize if a webshop is fake or fraud? Transform the 5 statements above in questions and ask yourself. Is the discount for a product that everybody wants and seems very hard to find? Why would any shop (online or offline) exactly the product that everybody wants at almost any price, reduce it…

Bought a new domain, the effects in the web are incredible…

I wrote in the post “What do you think: aggressive sales campaign or fraud?” about the attempt to impress and scare me of losing my domain. Now, I bought a new domain which was free in Internet. I watched this domain for two years to become available again, after i lost it because of a bad ISP. What do you think: aggressive sales campaign or fraud?

What do you think after you quickly read this letter? What makes this email special: addressed to me, using the data from the domain registration (mandatory things, which my registrar added) uses my domain name A lot of red text written in capitals special keywords like “notice”, “important”, “notification”, “expiration”, “act”, “immediately” has a clear deadline on it First time I read it I went very quickly and I thought that they try to take over my domain by requiring me to “prolong” the registration with them. This would have required to transfer the domain to them and then pay yearly fees to them. Very well done, I have to say. But, if you read it carefully, you see that it doesn’t actually offer you to prolong the registration of the domain! It is an offer to purchase automatic submission to search engines for 64$. The URLs in the email are specially created for mustaca.com domain. After I changed the URL to not point to my domain, it looks like this: So, is this an aggressive sales campaign or is it a fraud?
