Avira Techblog: Microsoft patch day brings many security fixes

Microsoft did a good job in August by releasing to customers no less than 9 security bulletins which fix 5 critical security vulnerabilities and 4 important ones.

Pretty much everything is affected :

– the Windows operating system (XP 32bit SP3, XP 64 bit SP2, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, 2008 R2, Vista, Windows 7),

– Microsoft Office (2003, 2007, 2010),

– Microsoft SQL Server (SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2),

– Microsoft Commerce Server (2002, 2007,2009),

– Microsoft Host Integration Server (2004)

– Microsoft Exchange Server (2007, 20010)

Please use the standard update functionality to update your software as many of the vulnerabilities are exploitable.
